Ali Barbour’s Cave Restaurant is tucked beneath a modest whitewashed façade along Diani Beach Road. It delivers a magical, one-of-a-kind dining experience that combines natural wonder with gourmet flair. The interior features candlelight, soft lanterns, and a roaring bar under thatched palm-leaf roofing. A Natural skylight in the cave ceiling provides a dramatic view of the sky and stars.
The restaurant provides complimentary hotel transfers in Diani which is good!. Smart casual attire is required. No swimwear permitted. Also, young children (under 6 years) are not permitted.
It’s not perfect — a few menu hits and misses—but for most visitors, the dramatic setting, seafood excellence, and warm hospitality make it a must-do highlight of any Diani itinerary.
The menu offers an international flair with a strong seafood emphasis sourced locally—from oysters and crab bisque to prawns, yellowfin tuna carpaccio, and sumptuous lobster platters.
