Two Kenyan hearts. One shared purpose. A journey home.
Kama-Shera Safari and Tours is a passion-driven Safari & Tour company founded by two Kenyan women, who also call America home. We are deeply rooted in the spirit, beauty, and heritage of Kenya. Born from a dream to reconnect the African diaspora with the motherland, we create immersive safari and cultural experiences designed especially for African Americans and people of African descent across the globe. We created this company to bridge the gap between African American, the global Black diaspora, and the motherland.
The name Kama-Shera holds a profound meaning and deeply personal. It is a fusion of the names of our beloved parents, both of whom have passed on. This name is more than a brand — it is a tribute. A legacy. It represents more than just our brand; it is a living tribute to the love, strength, resilience, and guidance of those who came before us. Kama-Shera is a name carried with honor, and with it, we walk in the footsteps of our ancestors — not only remembering their legacy but actively continuing it through every journey we offer.
We believe travel to Africa should be more than a vacation — it should be a return. A spiritual homecoming. A reconnection to identity, history, and belonging. That’s why we specialize in experiences that go beyond the ordinary: from majestic safaris and serene landscapes to authentic cultural encounters and ancestral storytelling.
As diasporas ourselves, we understand what it means to seek identity, reconnection, and belonging. With deep knowledge of the land, people, and traditions, we offer journeys that awaken the spirit and celebrate our ancestors. This is our mission: To help you return not just to Kenya, but to yourself.
Our Mission
At Kama-Shera Safari and Tours, our mission is to reconnect African Americans and the African diaspora with the soul of Africa through unforgettable, meaningful, and culturally rich travel experiences in Kenya. We exist to honor our roots, preserve our heritage, and offer a bridge back to the motherland — one journey at a time.
We are committed to creating spaces where Black travelers feel seen, celebrated, and deeply connected.
Come with us. Kenya is calling. And the ancestors are waiting.
